Today was a wonderful day at Tate Publishing. Jerry Jenkins the author of the “Left Behind” series (fyi he sold over 63,000,000 copies) and the owner of the Christian Writers Guild was here. We have spent the last two days with Jerry and his wonderful wife. Jerry, like Tate Publishing has committed his life to helping mold authors and the next generation of Christian writers.

I think the most wonderful thing is that we all agree that the future of publishing is bright. Authors all over America are writing and they are writing the next great American novel right now as we speak. At Tate Publishing we provide the marketing, distribution, production, publicity and visibility that these authors can’t get anywhere else. We are able to take the authors like those that Jerry and the Christian Writers Guild develop and help vault them to success.

I would like to thank Jerry once again on behalf of the entire Tate Publishing family. We look forward to the future and continuing to take authors all over the world to the next level. At Tate Publishing our focus everyday is helping authors succeed.

Who knows, someone reading this right now may be the next big author to change the world. If you don’t write and you don’t’ try you will never know! Let’s sell some books!

Sincerely,

Ryan Tate

As a new year has come I am often asked what it will take for an author to be successful in 2011. The entire publishing industry has gone through so many changes in the last 5 years it is difficult to keep up with it all. From the Kindle to the Ipad and every technology gadget in between people want content faster than ever. While we have always been a leader in the industry when it comes to technology and content many things never change. So once again, when I am asked what is takes for an author to succeed, the answer still remains the same. It takes a great team! That is right, I have been in this industry so long that I see books all the time that succeed and become a bestseller that from a content and quality standpoint are inferior to other books on the market, but the team behind them are far more experienced and offer more.

That is where we focus the most at Tate Publishing. We know that the best thing we can do is work as hard as possible to create opportunities for our authors to succeed. No other publisher offers what we do. From putting each author on national television, marketing, production, editing, design, manufacturing, publicity and more. Tate Publishing sets the standard that others try to compete against. The problem with self-publishing has nothing to do with the self-publisher itself. Self-publishers do one thing, they print books! The problem is that authors often believe that their book is so good or so well written that if they can simply get some copies printed it will take off and everyone will want to purchase it. That is simply a silly thought. Supply doesn’t drive demand, just because you print it doesn’t mean anyone will buy it! Demand drives demand! At Tate Publishing if we select a manuscript to publish we supply a team to each author. Our authors work with their own editor, designer, typeset designer, marketing and publicity rep. No publisher books more events for their authors than Tate Publishing. We do all of this to make sure that we are providing the best team we possibly can for our authors. So if you are looking for a publisher, remember to ask about what kind of team will be assembled and provided. Will you be able to pick up the phone and call your own marketing representative if you want to have a book signing scheduled or a press release sent? A great team is what we focus on at Tate because we believe that is the environment that creates the best opportunity for an author to succeed.

In a difficult industry you cannot hope and wish that you will be successful. You need to work harder and smarter than your competition and surround yourself with professionals that know what is takes to succeed. I will be praying that you all have a blessed an successful 2011 and as always if you have any questions or need assistance don’t hesitate to contact us!

Sincerely,

Ryan Tate

As Thanksgiving approaches it is always important to take time to think about all we have to be grateful for in our lives. At Tate Publishing we have many blessings and things that we appreciate. I was sitting at my desk working late last night and couldn’t stop thinking about how much I appreciate several things at Tate Publishing.

First, is our incredible staff. Through this entire year our staff has grown significantly, but they have become closer and tighter through the growth. Our award winning staff not only love what they do but they are always putting our authors and artists first. I preach in staff meetings that service is key and to make everyone we deal with feel special. I am so proud and blessed to see this through our staff on a daily basis.

Secondly, I am so thankful for our authors. We have seen Tate Publishing authors accomplish more than ever before in this year. We are averaging close to 1,000 events every month in 2010 and our authors have sold more books and had more success than ever before. I believe we have the hardest working authors in the industry and they know that successful books don’t happen over night and that success requires a great partnership between them and their publisher. I am so proud of each of you and cannot wait to see what our family of authors accomplish in 2011!

Third, the blessings and growth our authors have achieved in this economy are a miracle. Every-time we turn on the news these days we have to listen to horrible stories about how bad the world is and how high unemployment is and that the economy is spiraling out of control. While there is no doubt that there have been many difficult issues facing our country our staff and authors never looked at any of the circumstances as a problem, but an opportunity to work harder and be smarter. Tate authors have increased the number of niche marketing events and opportunities through our marketing department at an incredible rate. If in store sales weren’t going well for an author our staff quickly looked for new opportunities. No other publisher works harder to help and create these opportunities and I am so grateful that our authors never go it alone in this incredibly competitive industry.

Fourth, is our bookstore and distributor relationships. For many publishers they are being cut back and told to take their books and go home by the largest retailers and distributors. We have built over the last decade wonderful relationships with Borders, Barnes and Noble, Ingram and every other large chains as well as small bookstores. I would like to thank each of you for your support of our authors and the opportunities you provide us with every day. We don’t take it lightly and we are very thankful.

Finally, my family and God! I spend everyday working hard to make sure that Tate Publishing will be the best opportunity for any author. I believe we have accomplished that and we will continue to offer more and more. In the last year alone we started putting every Tate author on national television. Tate authors have had their book commercials seen by over 300 million viewers! No other publisher does more. My passion for our authors is something that my family has been instrumental in supporting. I am so grateful that my girls at home have made it possible for Dad to work long hours and travel often as we serve our author family and the publishing industry. I could not be more blessed and I thank God for you everyday! God has blessed us with amazing opportunities to share our books with the world and help change peoples lives. I never take that responsibility or opportunity lightly.

I can think of so many more things, but I am afraid that list will go on and on! Thank you to everyone who has made this year a success and been a part of the Tate Publishing family. I consider myself so blessed.

Sincerely,

Ryan Tate

Good afternoon and thanks again for visiting my blog to find out about all of the exciting new opportunities at Tate Publishing. Since I last wrote we have had so many things happen. From new magazine launches to the incredible response and success our author’s nationwide television commercials are receiving, it is a busy and wonderful time to be a part of the Tate Publishing family.

Many of you are first-time authors and looking for a home for your life’s work. I want to encourage you to search out every option and compare them head to head. If your manuscript is accepted by Tate Publishing I believe you are being offered the best publishing opportunity in America. From editing and design to marketing, distribution and layout, we are the best and no one can compete or even offers what Tate Publishing brings to the table.

It is this very level of service and success that brought a National Basketball Association (NBA) team the Oklahoma City Thunder to Tate Publishing. This summer we will be releasing several children’s books for the team and for their team children’s associations telling the stories of the team, their mascot and history. The same level of writing, illustration, design, marketing, distribution and promotion that the NBA require is what is the daily expectation for us and our authors. That is the Tate way!

To succeed you need great partners in the publishing industry. We are excited about the opportunities to partner with authors and organizations across the globe.

As always feel free to contact our offices or me directly if you have any questions and know that we will be praying for your success. We look forward to talking with you soon!

In Him,

Ryan Tate

I wanted to give everyone a quick update on the new television commercials Tate Publishing is running on our author’s books. When we launched these television commercial campaigns we were excited. However, the results and exposure has far exceeded our expectations.

Tate Publishing is the only publisher in America that provides this level of commitment and service to their authors. We are so excited that we have created the premier publisher for authors with accepted manuscripts. From design, editing and layout to marketing, distribution and manufacturing, Tate Publishing authors are experiencing incredible success and providing the industry with the highest quality of content. The television commercials were the latest publicity opportunity and has proved to be a great one for our authors.

Since launching the campaigns Tate Publishing and our author family have already reached nearly 145,000,000 million viewers. That is right, 145 million viewers have watched our commercials and the buzz is incredible. This type of support and exposure is exactly what it takes for authors to be successful and set themselves apart. I am so proud to be part of a company that is forward thinking and continues to put authors first.

These are very exciting times and I will keep the reports coming and thanks for reading!

Sincerely,
